On December 31st 2024, The Fells Trust was permanently dissolved.

The three schools formerly within The Fells Trust joined new, separate Multi Academy Trusts on 01/01/2025.

George Hastwell School has joined The Eden Academy Trust.

The Queen Katherine School has joined Cumbria Education Trust.

Walney School has joined Furness Education Trust.
